About the Factual Background |
|
|
Innocence Denied is dedicated to trying to bring
exposure, and assistance to individuals who are wrongfully, and unjustly
incarcerated. This section of the web site is dedicated to giving a factual
background on individual cases. ID was founded in order to give exposure to
individuals who have valid grounds for a new trial, but due to the short
comings of our legal system they have been denied their fair day in court.
Currently this website features the case of it's founder Darrell Van Mastrigt
and some other inmates who are caught in the broken system. To view
background information about Darrell's arrest, interrogation, trial, appeals
process, and evidence (or more accurately, the lack of evidence) click on
the above links. To view other cases, please select them from the
"other cases" menu.
Despite the fact that Darrell has been denied numerous
constitutional rights, and that there is no physical evidence to convict him
of the brutal crime that he is incarcerated for, the court systems still
refuse to hear his case or even address his issues of constitutional
violations. It is hoped that this website will be able to bring enough
exposure to the injustices so our court systems can no longer ignore these
injustices and uphold the constitution that makes our country so beautiful.
As this website grows, Innocence Denied will be adding
many more profiles to the Factual Background section on individuals who are wrongfully
incarcerated. If you know of someone who is currently wrongfully
incarcerated, and you would like Innocence Denied to consider them for
placement on this website, please have them fill out one of the following
applications, and mail to:

There are no restrictions on the type of case; location of case, or
sentence imposed. Death penalty, life sentences, and long-term (20+
years) sentences will receive closer scrutiny. There must be a
reasonable showing of innocence and/or constitutional rights
violations. Guilty pleas, inordinate length of sentence, degree of
guilt, or legal procedural errors will not be considered.
